About her:

Born in Toronto to East African and South Asian parents, Azra’s work often marries cultural nuances from her Western hometown with her Eastern roots.

Her illustrations often explores the intersection of culture, gastronomy, and human connection through a bold and thoughtful visual language by blending hand-drawn detail with contemporary composition.

Azra is also the creator of In The Filing Cabinet, a substack that sits at the juncture of art, appetite and culture and explores themes of food, migration and memory.

Today, she spends her time between Lisbon, London and Toronto, using her cultural lens to bring moments to life through the use of digital art and illustration.
